PT 799 Microclover®

Microclover® produces an environmentally friendly lawn alternative. Very little fertilizer, fungicides and water are required for Microclover to flourish. It would be difficult to find a more environmentally friendly, cost effective and low maintenance turf solution.

Not to be confused with miniclover, Microclover®, Trifolium repens var Pipolina ssp Microclover, is adapted to a wide range of climatic and soil conditions; it is already growing successfully all around the world.  Microclover® tolerates wet, shade and drought conditions, however it can only tolerate wet conditions as long as the area is not flooded for long periods.

The appearance of turf containing Microclover® (such as PT 769 Rough & Ready or PT 767 Dog Park) is superior to traditional turf. The clover permanently fertilizes the grass, thus increasing its wear tolerance. In addition it weaves its stolons with the grass, spreading evenly and integrating its leaves homogeneously into the lawn.

Clover remains greener much longer than grasses in both drought and cold conditions. Lawns containing Microclover® are a brighter green earlier and later in the year. It has a good summer color, as it is particularly resistant to drought because of its deep rooting system.

In order to achieve the look of a lawn, Microclover® requires regular mowing. 

Pro Time Microclover is coated with an inoculant that ensures nitrogen fixation. The weight of the clover seeds will contain approximately 37% coating material that contains the inoculant and water holding material for better establishment and viability of the seed. There is no difference in the seeding rates between coated and raw seed due to the increased germination and viability of coated and inoculated seed.

Application Rate: 1-2 lbs per 1000 sq ft or 40 lbs per acre

Germination: 10 to 14 days under ideal conditions
